Welcome to Spiel. By using our app, you agree to the following terms. If you don't agree, don't use the app. Spiel is published by All American Atlas LLC, a Colorado limited liability company.

1. Use of the App

Spiel is an iOS application for practising speaking. It gives you a topic, time to research it, and records you speaking for one minute, then measures your filler words, your pace, and how long you spoke cleanly.

You may only use the app for its intended purpose. Any misuse, including attempts to tamper with or circumvent its features, is prohibited.

2. No Account Required

You are not required to create an account to use Spiel. Your recordings and transcripts are stored on your device.

3. Subscriptions & Payments

The app is free to download. A paid subscription is required to access some features.

Subscriptions are offered at $7.99 per week or $29.99 per year. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your Apple ID is charged for renewal within 24 hours of the period ending. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID settings.

From time to time we may offer a discounted annual subscription. Its price is shown in the app before you buy, and it renews at that price until cancelled.

Payments are processed through Apple's App Store. All purchases are final. We do not offer refunds except as required by applicable law or Apple's own policies.

4. Your Recordings

Your recordings and transcripts are yours. We claim no ownership of them.

To measure a take, its audio is sent to our server and on to our transcription provider, and the results are returned to your device. How that is handled is described in our Privacy Policy.

5. Third-Party Services

We use trusted third-party providers to operate the app:

  • Deepgram for speech-to-text transcription
  • Apple for payment processing
  • RevenueCat for subscription management
  • WishKit for feature requests
  • Crisp for support chat
  • Meta for advertising measurement

We never sell your data. The only information shared with an advertising partner is that the app was installed and that a subscription was bought, and your advertising identifier only if you allowed tracking, as described in our Privacy Policy.

6. Restrictions

You agree not to:

  • Use the app for unlawful or unintended purposes
  • Reverse engineer, tamper with, or attempt to circumvent its core functions
  • Exploit bugs or errors in the app
  • Upload content you do not have the right to record

We reserve the right to restrict access if the app is used in ways that violate these terms or compromise its functionality.

7. Age Requirement

Spiel is intended for users aged 13 and over. Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising use by minors.

8. Not Professional Advice

Spiel is a practice tool. Its measurements and feedback are not speech therapy, and not medical, diagnostic, therapeutic, or clinical advice of any kind.

9. Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability

The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. We make no guarantees regarding accuracy of transcription, availability, or uninterrupted operation.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from your use of Spiel, including loss of recordings.

10. Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes go into effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, United States.
